Unfortantely I have been out of the loop on these for some time now and I dont know if this will still work.
which blackberry is for this? I have a Blackberry Curve 8530. Will it still work for this phone?
Did you install Sprint SmartView?
what phone do you have the curve or a tour
I believe your assesement is correct however I dont think the 49.99 price point is. I know its included in some plans and not others. Users on a BES plan should be able to use PAM, users on a BIS plan may not be able to unless they add the service. I am not sure what the service costs but an Aircard which is definitly a better way to connect is around 60 per month.
“Sprint is starting to crack down on anyone using their Blackberry’s as a modem with the ‘Unlimited date plan’, Sprint is starting to lock out phones as they find clients using them as a modem. The only way you can actually use your blackberry as a modem, without getting it locked out, is purchasing a 49.99 a month “tethering fee” or use third party software
I believe PAM does only work with specific Blackberry plans. Plans change so often it is hard to keep up but currently I believe it is included in a plan that allows connections to a Blackberry Enterprise Server or BES Plan. It may be an option on the BIS only plan (Blackberry Internet Service). I would check with a store or customer service.
Can not connect, I get error #678, do you have to pay to use the Blackberry as Modem?
i got a 800kb/s speed with the modem! fantastic
I appreciate the video. It worked well for me. I have vista so a few little things were different but it was easy enough to figure out. I’m using my phone to write this right now lol
