I have been trying to decide b/t the Hero and the Tour for awhile and after seeing this, definitely going w/ the Tour. I’ve watched a few different reviews and yours is the only one that gives an actual USER OPINION! That’s what I needed, not the tech specs & stuff (I can get that from my wireless dealer lol)… thanks again for the real world review 
Love this review! Right to the point and love how you talk about “real-life” use. I think some of the reviewers on here forget that we are not all 13 year olds just wanting a “cool” phone. I am on Verizon, just got the Palm Pre Plus cuz I’ve had a BB for 2 years and was getting bored, but I am thinking about getting the new Bold. My hubby has it and loves it. Love the Pre, but wish it had some simple things that most phones have like voice record, being able to send sound in a txt msg, etc.

SuperGrissom, new laptop. Got the Tour! Lovin every minute of it. Sync my iTunes no problem to it. Sync’s everytime I plug it to my laptop. I looks like a real man’s phone. No cute stuff going on here. I set it next to my watch collection and it fits right in. The subtle chrome trim, the chrome slivers between the buttons. GQ…you bet. You know the Bold has a leather back to it..I want that! What would be nice if someone made a back door out of wood, redwood, cherry, oak. Hey you should.

how do u feel about the htc vo coming out this june 4? are u planing 2 get it?
@DesiMakeupGrl I got the 8530 through Sprint. Its been extremely reliable with basically no issues. Use the standby function to extend battery life. If youre with Sprint you can wait for the Bold 9650(Tour2) Its coming out in late May. Its just like 9630 but better with wifi, more memory and trackpad.

I gotta say, I think you convinced me on the Tour, you know I’m pretty sick of this cute trend with the phones and I play for the other team! The new HTC Evo looks great, but gotta tell ya I’m all touched out. I’m an engineer by trade, and my bosses are all from the old school, so I can’t tell you how embarrassed I get when I slide out my keyboard on my mogul, and there’s this cute “ding” it annoys the shit outta me. Business…that’s what we all handle.

Great review..I’m actually moving from a HTC Diamond (which I hated because it freezes too!) to a Blackberry..Which do you think is better.the Curve 8530 or the Tour? This will be my first blackberry btw. Thanks
Have you ever tried flashing Windows Mobile 6.5 onto it? It’s really good. It has a LOT less freezing. Also, try flashing Android 2.1 onto it.
