I placed an order for a Droid II including a Verizon plan in early September after speaking with an Amazon rep on the phone. It all sounded good but it turns out pretty much nothing they told me was accurate. It’s been over three weeks and I still have not received the phone from Amazon.

I had to order the phone twice. It was kicked out of the system, then reordered, then delayed despite being in stock, and finally canceled. The reason stated was vague. They directed me to call Verizon. Which I did. Verizon checked into it and said they did not turn me down. Credit looked good, and so on.

So I call Amazon back and I am told that they have a team that handles these kinds of issues that might or might not look into it, and that I may or may not hear back within a few days.

After over an hour on the phone trying to get this resolved that was enough for me. I drove to a Verizon Wireless store and worked a deal with the salesman to match the advertised Amazon price, through a couple of incentives he added to the purchase. I Then got a pretty decent walk through in the Verizon store which will pay off in shortening my learning curve.

I am very happy with the phone, but will not order another one through Amazon.

I’ve had several Motorola phones before. Then I’ve switched to iPhone. After two years of iphone this phone felt like going from a Lexus to Honda. It’s good but can’t compare with iphone in speed, fluency and the graphics.

After research the various Driods – Driod, Driod Incredible, and Driod X, I settled on the Driod 2. It met my needs just fine. Yes, it will have more than what I will possible ever use it for, but what it does provide, I could not be more happier.

I have to start by sayn I love my Droid 2. Let’s go with the Cons first. The Android O.S. is very buggy on all phones & all carriers. I’ve tested the HTC EVO,SAMSUNG CAPTIVATE & the first MOTOROLA DROID. All of them showed the hiccups of the Android O.S with multiple FORCE CLOSES & SCREEN FREEZES. They also had a noticeable amount of lag when navigating thru menu screens. If you can deal with these minor setbacks u r n 4 a treat. Now let’s go over the Pros. The Droid 2 n my opinion is the best phone on the market simply because it has a very nice 3.7inch touchscreen & a full slideout keyboard. Also it is on the strongest network here n the United States(VERIZON). The call quality on this phone is amazin,I’ve had no dropped calls & the speaker on this phone is extremely loud(good for music buffs like myself). I don’t have enough time to truly say everything that I like about this phone, just know that this is without a doubt the best phone I’ve ever owned. This coming from a former Iphone 3gs owner. I almost forgot, this phone has a very nice 5 megapixel camera with Flash n Camcorder. The best thing about this phone is it’s open source format. You don’t have the restrictions of itunes. Just about every format of media is supported on the Droid 2 & syncing music n video is a breeze. In closing, if you r more of tech buff than this phone is for u, if u r lookn for a simple smartphone mayne the iphone might be a better option for u.

This is the toy of toys, not too big, not too small, with some heft!

Unfortunately, you’re not going read any tech talk here, nothing about performance or comparisons.

You’re not going to here any crying and moaning about having to simply put the fone in the charger at nite.

    Oh No!

    This review is about the feel-good, want-to-have, proud-to-own factor…elation!

The Droid 2 is possibly the last toy in human history made specifically for a man (and of course, women who tend to roll up the sleeves)…this is a man’s toy!

Style, color, texture, heft. This is a man’s toy!

As soon as I held this fone in my hand…I involuntarily let out a low growl…nearby iPhone users started cringing and running for cover! This is a man’s toy!

All those cute, colorful accessories for this fone are going to end up in the recycling bin because…This is a man’s toy!

Usually, I like to think of myself as a everyday guy, but when I’m holding the Droid 2…I prefer to be addressed as MR and Sir, with yes and no answers period…This is a man’s toy!

BEFORE the Droid 2 was delivered, I made up my mind to go crawling back to the Ex…yeah, right! This is a man’s toy!

I had a lot more to share on this review, but I think you get the point and since my Droid 2 is calling (literally…can you say…new Ex 3 times, very fast?)

This is the first fone contract I’ve had in 15 years…and if it wasn’t for the Droid 2 (and my expert research), I would’ve easily went another 15 years…

There are plenty of smartphones out there…but, the Droid 2 is a man’s toy!
