The iPhone OS 4 beta release includes an updated Software Development Kit (SDK) with over 1500 new Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and over 100 new features that will be available to iPhone and iPod touch users this summer. New features include Multitasking for third party apps; Folders to better organize and access apps; improved Mail with a unified inbox, fast inbox switching and threaded messages; enhanced Enterprise support with even better data protection, mobile device management, wireless app distribution and more; Apples new iAd mobile advertising platform; and iBooks, the delightful new ebook reader and online bookstore recently debuted on the iPad™.

Dude.
Loaded OS4.0 onto my 3G & the iPhone has gotten seriously slow as a result. Some apps no longer work & the car kit no longer works during a call. (iPod function still works)
Any clues. Can you retro fit OS back to before when everything worked….?

Nvm i found out that the wallpaper and multitask only works for 3GS
I have downloaded the OS 4 update and it is not letting me multi task and also not letting my put a wallpaper up in my home screen.. I was wondering if anyone else is having this prob and if they have a fix thank you.. p.s its an Iphone 3G
My iphone 3GS lags after installing the os 4 update. It is even slower 20% to open or close, and when I play games. I really hope they make an update to help.
i am looking at 2 listings on ebay, an iphone 3gs that is 25$ ( brand new won at contest) it was set to a one day listing, so tommorow im going to try and get that, if i cant there is a 3g for 200$,
if i use a 3g i know a loose ALOT of features, but is it enough to really care or?

If you load safari browser and begin loading a site, and use the fake crap multitasking to go to another app, does the browser continue to load the page? Or does it just pause the load? This was a big question in the beta version that you completely forgot…

well my friend has one and i just updated his and i didn’t have the multitasking feature as well as that he could set a background that shows on the homescreen as well so that just freaking sucks!

Speaking of voice memos, the iPod touch came with it on the 3.0 os. It’s useless because there is no mic.
