How to download: bit.ly Previously we showed you Android running on the HD2 via the Nexus One ROM. In this video, we show you the HD2 running the HTC Desire ROM which features Android Sense. Almost everything works, except for the speakers (making it impossible to use it as a phone).

my phone gets to the white text on the black background and when the duck with the htc logo on its belly comes up a portion of the texts reads rootfs.img file not found on sd card or something like that, what do i do?
@110487110487 I totally understand you. Coming from Android –> iPhone –>WM. WM is truly the worst OS available on the market. You may want to try the latest ChuckRom for XDA-Developer. I haven’t had any problems yet. And he Android running on HD2 is smooth as hell. could be better than its native WM LOL
When is it gunna be ready!!!!!!!!!!!! WM SUCKS >: | always freezez on me
@RHYDmusic first iphone had bugs… umm i wonder what you would’ve said it when you purchased 1 gen iphone back in the day.
@RHYDmusic well that would be ur opinion like this is mine. besides the big screen to watch movies which i liked. phone is to complex , had alot of bugs always crashing. why would i have to be modding a phone to make it work better. i almost paid 400 for this phone at the time and was expecting something better. but yeah who cares i got my iphone back;-)
@RHYDmusic back to iPhone.. hm.. well perhaps sometimes less is more.. or perhaps you only don’t have a clue about technology… well, who cares
bought this phone and sold it after 2 months o usage , what a nightmare , i just went back to my iphone 3gs.
asdfasd
@AJRingset its fixed everything works perfectly been using 4 a wk straight wirh no crashes
when i download the package and extract it doesnt come up in my file explorer
@quintoncornell There is no fix yet it is a bug in the os.. we just have 2 wait for an update…
phone doesnt recognize when u plug up the charger while using android so i have to soft reset back to wm to charge my phone… any fix for that or is it jus one of the things not working yet
Could I use the program used with Froyo 2.2 for HD2 to enable speaker on this ROM?
@TRULYMORTAL
Ah glad you got it sussed. Most of teh build you ned to have in the root of a FAT32 card, only one build to my knowledge is different and needs to be booted from a Android folder.
I’m running desire v5 build and i can receive text messages but people don’t receive mine. anyone know the problem?
@ATHiESTuk and HTCParadise I figured it out. I have the most recent rom for my HD2. That wasn’t the problem. I had unzipped the files to a folder on the card. Which is why I think the boot was hanging. I cleared out the card and unzipped the files with out any folders or other files. Booted right up to Android. It’s awesome. Still a little buggy though. But thanks guys for your help and suggestions.
@Babygirlsdreams
lol, I bet they was like “wtf” when you rebooted into WM
@TRULYMORTAL
Its because you probably dont have a radio version high enough. You radio version needs to be at least 2.08 and you will prpbably have 6.06/07
Im guessing that you still have your stock rom and havent updated it or installed a custom rom?
You should google xda-developers and learn yourself how to update your radio or rom version.
If you update your rom you will also be able to have WM6.5.5 which is finger friendly and way better then what you will have now.
@HTCParadise no colors. just the white type scrolling up the screen like in all the videos. seems like it will boot, but never gets there. After 15 or 20 minutes there is a line at the bottom of the screen seems to continue to run. However nothing happens. When screen goes to sleep I press any button and it shows that same line running.
@TRULYMORTAL it usually takes about 2-3 mins. What happened, did it turn green? Or did the screen just stay black?
I unzipped the files onto my sd card. Ran the CLRCAD file first then the haret.exe file. The boot up screen goes on forever and never loads the OS. I waited 15, 20 minutes and Android never loaded. I was able to get back to my WinMobile by removing the battery but I’m wonder where I messed up. Did I not wait long enough? I thought he said in this video that it should only take 3 or 4 minutes?
sorry they wouldn’t let me post the generic settings to get your mobile network running
@Babygirlsdreams The data does work. You just have to manually input your APN setting which you can Google. Just go to Wireless settings> Mobile Network Setting> APN List. It should be empty, so just press the “Windows Start button” located in the middle of the hard keys at the bottom. Select ” New APN” the input your APN settings accordingly.
For those who just want to see if it works and are with T-moblie use this:
Press the menu again and save.
